The local Sharp-shinned Hawk (Accipiter striatus) likes to come into our yard, and sit on the old bench for awhile. Meantime, scaring the bejammers out of all the little birds!

Eye To Eye

Today we had another visit from the Sharp-shinned Hawk (Accipiter striatus) Today it came in close and sat on the perch for our feeders. No free lunch today!

Those Eyes

A Sharp-shinned Hawk, dropped in at lunchtime and thankfully scared all the little birds away.  I’m happy to see it but don’t want it using our feeders as a buffet!  No luck this time buddy!

A portrait of a Sharp-shinned Hawk (Accepiter striatus). This one dropped in on out yard just at dusk today. One last look around. Unfortunately it was out of luck. All the little birds had gone to roost!

Looking for Lunch

Here’s my friend the Sharp-shinned Hawk.  It dropped by for lunch, but went hungary as all the other birds made a speedy exit when it appeared!  Who can blame them, they didn’t want to end up on the Menu!

A Sharp-shinned hawk, drops by our yard on occasion to check on all it’s little brothers and sisters to make sure they are paying attention!

The Culprit

Here’s the culprit.  Always chasing all my little birds away.  But, they disappear until this Sharp-shinned Hawk moves on.  I don’t mind, because I really like the raptors too!

Today’s Visitor

Today's visitor to the back yard is this Sharp=shinned Hawk. As a result, all the other birds have made themselves scarce!
